Are
Chiropractors qualified doctors?
Yes. There is much misunderstanding of
the extent and quality of chiropractic education.
Doctors of Chiropractic receive much the same education
as their medical colleagues receive. Chiropractic
and medical schools use many of the same textbooks
and have similar student contact hours- 4,822 (chiropractic)
and 4,677 (medical). Clinical science hours are
also similar in total- 3,406 (71%) and 3,467 (74%)
respectively in chiropractic and medicine. In fact,
chiropractic students have significantly more classroom
hours in anatomy and physiology than medical students.
There is a similar amount of biochemistry, microbiology,
and pathology. Doctors of Chiropractic have been
thoroughly trained by accredited colleges throughout
the country and are qualified to diagnose and treat
many conditions and ailments.
Do physical and massage therapies compliment chiropractic?
Yes. Tight muscles and ligaments work against the chiropractic adjustment. These
therapies help facilitate the healing process and are vital to maintaining proper
health.

How
often should I be adjusted to maintain a
healthy spine?
Following successful completion of a treatment
plan, it is recommended a person get checked
for subluxation about once a month, whether
they have pain or not. It really depends on
the person’s lifestyle, job, and health
history. Some can go several weeks without
an adjustment; others need chiropractic every
two weeks. Just like visiting the dentist on
a regular basis keeps teeth and gums healthy,
regular spinal adjustments keeps the spine
from deteriorating. Bottom line: it is always
easier to keep someone healthy than to get
them healthy.
Is chiropractic
necessary for children?
Yes. Children, including infants, are also
susceptible to subluxation just as adults
are. In fact, subluxation of the upper neck
often occurs following delivery of a newborn.
Add this trauma to other forms of childhood
mishap and, left uncorrected, it may contribute
to many health problems. Childhood ailments
such as earaches, asthma, bedwetting, colic,
and behavioral disorders can often be treated
naturally through chiropractic care. How?
Simply by removing nerve pressure and allowing
the body to function properly.
