Mesa Chiropractor: Dr. Clint Bennion
My Chiropractic Story

I wasn't raised in a medicine cabinet.
I've always known I would be a doctor of chiropractic. My grandfather, father, three uncles, and a cousin are chiropractors. I grew up watching all the good they did for their patients and from early in my life had a desire to follow in their footsteps. I feel very privileged to come from a family of great chiropractors. I remember seeing a pediatrician only a couple of times and was given antibiotics very rarely, if ever. We weren't vaccinated as children, either. To me, health was chiropractic. Whether it was an ear ache or a stiff neck after a football game, it was always Dad's adjustments that got me better.
Chiropractic Education
I graduated cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. It only seemed fitting to receive my chiropractic training at the same school my grandfather, father, and uncles attended. I loved my education at Palmer College. Though attending school while raising a family was extremely challenging, I tried to make the most of my educational experience. The more I learned about the intricate workings of the human body, the more apparent it became to me it wasn't created by chance or accident. I was fascinated at how intimately the delicate nerve system and the entire body were connected, too.
Chiropractic Philosophy
My practice philosophy is simple: put people in the best position possible for their bodies to function at 100%. Every day I have the unique opportunity to help people rethink how they view health. I want each of our patients to understand that true health is not how they feel, but rather how they function. And since function comes from the brain and nerves, our patients also understand how chiropractic adjustments can help with so much more than just neck and back pain. We incorporate a variety of modalities and manual therapies into patients' treatment plans to help them get better more quickly and stay better longer. Since every patient is different, we remind them that healing comes in stages and takes time. Those that follow our recommendations and have patience with their bodies usually have success in our practice. Though our team ultimately plays a very small part in a person's healing, it is extremely rewarding to see someones life significantly turn around through our efforts and theirs.
Family
I'm an Arizona native and the oldest of six children. At 19 years of age I served a voluntary two-year mission for the LDS Church in Johannesburg, South Africa. That experience, more than anything, helped me mature and prepared me for the challenges of life. I met my wife, Sara, who had just returned from her own mission experience in Argentina, at church. We quickly fell in love and were soon married in Mesa, Arizona. Since then we have been blessed with five beautiful children; two girls and three boys. Our family enjoys time together in the mountains and on the beach, game nights, and playing monster with their dad. In my spare time, I enjoy snowboarding, studying aviation, reading, playing drums and the guitar.
Health & Habits
To stay healthy and active, I get my spine adjusted at least once a month. I enjoy a morning jog three days a week and do the P90X workout program in my home with my wife. After five years of daily consumption, I recently committed to never drink diet soda again, due to the chemicals found in that type of drink, especially aspartame. However, I admit I still have a weakness for a warm Krispy Kreme doughnut or two...or three. I was not vaccinated as a child, nor were my five siblings. Our children have not been vaccinated, either. I have a growing concern with antibiotics, too. I believe they can be helpful at times, but in my opinion are completely over-prescribed. Too many times I hear about antibiotics being prescribed for obvious viral infections such as bronchitis, sinusitis, and other upper respiratory infections. I am against many over-the-counter medications and especially those that are prescribed. Medications almost never treat the cause of the problem. They only treat symptoms and almost always have multiple negative side-effects, including death. And people are afraid to have their necks adjusted?
